2. Take a walk along Paseo de Montejo.

Merida does not lack beautiful things! Some of the best parts of the city are found along and around Paseo de Montejo, just 2 blocks away from DOWNTOWN MERIDA HOTEL locates this tree-lined pedestrian street, steeped in history and some of the most beautiful old buildings in the city. town. Paseo Montejo is 13 blocks (approximately 3.2 km) long and has many beautiful buildings, cute cafes, elegant shops and of course some of the most representative monuments along the way, so walking down this street you will find the MONUMENTO A LA PATRIA , perhaps the most famous, and it's located at the beginning of the street from north to south and ends in the park called "El Remate". It´s essential to go through an ice cream from the “Colón” sorbet shop to cool down.

3. Visit the center of Mérida.

In general, Mérida's Downtown or historic center never goes out of style. There are many colorful houses, old taverns, beautiful colonial buildings, bougainvillea trees, typical food places, beautiful parks and much more to see and photograph. Many cultural events and Instagram-worthy places in Mérida are located in the Gran Plaza, including the large, colorful letters that spell out Mérida and of course La Catedral de San Ildefonso which was built throughout the 16th century between 1561 to 1598 and is a one of the oldest cathedrals in the entire American continent and it is the largest church in Mérida. Don't miss it!

4. Organize a tour to the Cenotes.

A must in Yucatan is to visit a cenote, if you have not done it yet you are missing out of an outstanding experience, not only for the place itself, but because of everything that the experience entails in general. Near the city of Mérida (some of them in inside the same city) there are numerous tourist cenotes to enjoy and have fun in the best way, most of them offer bathrooms, showers and in many cases a restaurant, in some other you can stay to camp or sleep in cabin-style rooms. Whatever your reason, you don't want to miss out this memorable opportunity.
